On a taper barrel, which is its obvious intended primary use, you can't use shims on a taper (easily/too accurately) to time a horizontal brake. It's not that it doesn't *need* to be timed because it has holes all the way around, it's that it has holes all the way around because it *can't* be timed on a taper barrel while retaining the benefits of the taper. They're too damn loud to do that.Folks seem to get that backwards. Funny enough, I have 4 cherry bombs mounted right now, but I've never fired one unsuppressed.I actually can't remember the last time I shot a rifle unsuppressed.
